I’m all about beauty and skincare. Skincare is one of the most important things to me and despite my troublesome skin (I’m seeing a dermatologist) I take excellent care of my skin. So, when I get a breakout it always bugs me because I know how well I take care of it. I’m an oily girl with combination/acne prone skin. I have been through countless skincare regimens and am just now starting with a prescription. I did find out that part of it was due to something internal, but more on that in another post.
I know lots of people say acne has to do with diet and I’m actually a vegetarian ( 10 years) on her journey to being vegan. So, my diet is rather healthy and shouldn’t really effect my skin. Despite this, I’m still a sucker when I see something that says,”Eat this or drink that and it will give you beautiful skin.” This is where the green smoothies make an appearance. I actually drink one to two green smoothies everyday. I love them I love the taste and I love how they make my body feel. The one green smoothie that I drink almost every single day is supposed to be great for your skin.
It contains spinach, celery, cucumber, apple and coconut water. I definitely vary it sometimes depending what I have in my kitchen, but it’s delicious. Sometimes, I’ll add a splash of orange juice or include a banana. Chia seeds and hemp seeds are great super foods. Cucumber contains potassium, magnesium and silica which is believed to improve complexion and youthful radiance of your skin. Yes, please!
Green Smoothie
1 Cucumber
1 Apple
1 cup of Spinach (packed)
6 stalks of celery
1 cup of coconut water – and then I add more until I get the consistency I want!
— this will make enough for two smoothies.
I have such bad skin which I’ve been trying to sort out for over 4 years and during the ‘treatment process’, green smoothies were recommended to me but I couldn’t get them to taste at all appealing. Thank you so much for this recipe and also for joining in with the #chattybees chat tonight!

It’s such a nightmare. But I think green smoothies definitely help and adding banana almost always helps the flavor. It overpowers everything. And thanks so much, you were a great host!
